Unique Process of Ceylon Tea

Tea is plucked by hand on a daily basis by thousands of Tea pluckers, amounting to several millions of Tea leaves, comprising of the two tender leaves and bud.  This is the first step in the making of the world’s finest Tea. The plucked Tea leaf is withered using large blowers after which it is broken into little pieces, when begins the most important process known as fermenting, where the humidity, temperature and fermentation time is well controlled so as to preserve the unique taste and flavor. The leaves are then locked to preserve the flavor and dried to improve the keeping qualities. Thereafter the Teas are graded according to size and color. All these processes come under stringent quality control measures so as to ensure the end product is of the best quality

Medicinal and Nutritional Properties

Pure Ceylon Tea is rich in polyphenols, a type of antioxidant. These antioxidants scavenge the cell damaging free radicals and detoxify them thereby protecting the body against the damage of free radicals which are natural by-products of metabolization, but may also be formed in the body as a result of smoking, air pollution and exposure to sunlight. Free radicals are highly reactive substances that can, if not controlled, damage cells in people’s bodies. Recent research has shown that sipping a relaxing cup of Tea, especially green Tea, may provide a number of health benefits. Studies from the United States of America Agriculture have shown that Tea may pack as powerful a punch of health as one serving of many vegetables or fruits. Another interesting fact is that Tea is one of the few natural sources of the mineral fluoride. Fluoride is the most successful agent against tooth decay found to date and has changed the face of modern dentistry. Tea has been shown to have a positive effect on preventing tooth decay and gum disease.
